Every year Saturday Night Spectacular works with a charitable organization to provide support and awareness. In 2010 we will be benefiting Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey's Autism Organization - Generation Rescue.
About Generation Rescue
Imagine your perfect child laughing while looking at you with love and amazement. Then with little warning your adorable child stops talking, their eyes look empty and you feel their soul disappear. You then hear the most frightening words from your doctor, “I’m sorry, your child has autism and there is no cure.”
You have quickly become one of the millions of families struck by the most common developmental disorder of our time and landed in the middle of the one of the largest human rights issues of our generation. Why? Because most doctors are refusing to treat children with autism while in fact, treatment is real and recovery is possible.
Today, there are more children being diagnosed with autism than most other childhood disorders combined. Studies show that as many as 70% of children with autism have significant chronic intestinal issues and brain inflammation. Many of these children can’t sleep through the night. 32% of children with autism have seizures, some of them fatal. Autism also divides families because 80% of couples will divorce.
Surprisingly, unlike other disorders autism research is hardly funded through government grants.
Generation Rescue is an international movement of parents, researchers and medical practitioners helping children get the latest medical treatment for autism spectrum, AD(H)D and similar neurodevelopmental disorders.
While other organizations are focusing on untreatable genetic causes, Generation Rescue knows that many neurological disorders are often environmental illnesses caused by an overload of toxins, heavy metals, infections and nutritional deficiencies. Proper treatment of these children is leading to significant improvements or full recovery for many families.
Generation Rescue’s Mission is to support the critical medical research needed to help the greatest number of children reconnect with their families.
Generation Rescue’s Team of more 400 “Rescue Angels” walks parents through the step-by-step process of how to get their child properly treated.
These children need your help. Every dollar of your generous donation will directly support parents who want their children to have a better life. You will help further critical autism research and create the global awareness needed to stop this epidemic and let the world know that autism is treatable and recovery and prevention are possible TODAY!
